Could You Help Us to Help Others?
6th March 2022
As a club dedicated to getting more girls into the game, we’re amazed at the interest we have generated and can’t quite believe we’ve grown from 12 girls to 175 since we started in 2017. While we are excited to keep growing as quickly as possible, training up coaches and finding facilities to support all these teams remains a challenge.
At the same time, Starlets is a club built on strong values, so as well as creating opportunities for girls to play football, we want to do all we can to raise money for causes close to our hearts. Over the years we are proud to have raised thousands of pounds for charities including Breast Cancer Care and the Willow Foundation.
Whilst we do collect annual fees from all of our players, these are kept as low as possible to ensure we are accessible to everyone, only covering basic costs.
In order that we can continue to give even more girls the opportunity to experience the many benefits of playing football, we are always working to find other ways to raise much needed funds for our club, whilst also supporting our current chosen charity Young Minds.
Could you donate a prize for our raffle?
As part of these fundraising efforts, we are holding a Grand Prize Draw, where half of the profits will be used to help Starlets with the ongoing costs of growing our club, and the other half will be donated to Young Minds.
We are therefore looking for help in the form of raffle prizes. Any donation would be gratefully received and will benefit this amazing charity whilst also raising much needed funds to support us in creating new teams.
Our aim is to begin selling tickets in April as we build up to celebrating five seasons as a club, with the draw to be made at our presentation day in July, so if you are able to provide a product or service that we could give away we really would appreciate it.
If this sounds like something you could do, we’d love to hear from you.
For more information and details of how to make your donation please email our Chair Paul Manning via paul@starletsfc.com.
