Starlets FC Become an Arsenal Women Sister Club

We are pleased to announce that Stevenage Starlets FC have become a member of the Arsenal Women Sister Club Programme for the 2018/19 Season.

Being part of the programme will help us grow Women and Girls’ football. Arsenal Women deliver the biggest Sister Club Programme in England and will be looking to support grassroots clubs recruit more girls to play football, make friends and have fun.

Becoming a member of the Sister Club programme reflects our passion and commitment in developing girls’ football, and the support from Arsenal Women FC will provide us with the opportunity to inspire girls to play, as well as help our coaches develop their knowledge, skills and confidence in coaching the girls at the club.

As part of the support provided Starlets coaches can attend coaching workshops held at the Arsenal training ground, be given regular coaching session plans and resources aimed to help them deliver effective coaching sessions and connect the girls in their teams with the Arsenal Women players.

While the girls at the club will be able to access tickets to Arsenal Women home fixtures, a Sister Club Festival and much more.

Tom Hartley, Arsenal Women’s Development Officer explained, “We are very proud to work with and support Stevenage Starlets FC to develop Women and Girl’s football. It is a really exciting time to be involved with the Women’s game in England, and we hope the support we provide will help inspire the next generation of Arsenal and England stars”.

Starlets Club Secretary and Coach Denise Wells commented, "This is another significant milestone for us as we continue to grow our club. Our goal is to get more girls playing the game and this partnership will help us do just that".

"We always say being part of a club is about making memories and the Arsenal Women Sister Club Programme offers us access to some unique experiences, with amazing opportunities for our girls to be inspired by some of the biggest stars in the Women's game".

"We already have a number of our girls involved in Arsenal Women's development programme and so the decision to work more closely with them as a club makes a lot of sense. We can't wait to get started".
