We're a Watford Ladies FC Sister Club
6 October 2017
We are delighted to announce that we are partnering with Women's Super League 2 side Watford Ladies FC as one of their first ever Sister Clubs.
Both Stevenage Starlets and Watford Ladies are passionate about enhancing the football opportunities available to girls and driving increased participation in the game.
Working together with a club in the higher echelons of women's football will provide inspiration to our girls, helping them to understand more about the game and what it is to be an elite player.
This partnership not only gives us fantastic access to see Watford Ladies in action, but also the opportunity for our girls to meet and learn from players at the club.
Starlets Club Secretary Denise Wells explains why we are so excited to be linking with Watford Ladies: "We are delighted to be able to partner with Watford Ladies FC and to become a founding member of their Sister Club Programme.
"We have seen other FA Women’s Super League Sister Club Programmes in operation and understand the benefits of such an arrangement; our goal is to partner strongly, to further the aims of both Stevenage Starlets FC and Watford Ladies FC, and to support the development of football in general.
We are proud to be a Watford Ladies FC partner and look forward to working with them and to supporting the Ladies on the pitch at Kings Langley over the course of the season."
As part of the sister club scheme, a Watford Ladies FC player will be assigned to each club, with Adekite Fatuga-Dada taking up the role of the ambassador for the Starlets.
The winger added: "I’m very excited to be the ambassador for Stevenage Starlets. Having the Sister Club Programme plays a very important part in keeping girls playing football. I’m looking forward to meeting the girls, watching some of their sessions and answering any questions they may have."
